Beauty Abounds with Highland Heather

Good morning stampers! Today’s card features the Beauty Abounds stamp set and a lot of Highland Heather ink! It’s Card Swap Thursday, and this one is charming. Let’s have a look.

Wendy's Little Inklings: Beauty Abounds in Highland Heather

Amber Thompson stamped this week’s card, and she chose to work with just two colours – Whisper White and Highland Heather. It’s a pretty colour combo that works with just the two. It’s not necessary to add an additional colour.

The layers were stamped at the same time, to give us continuity in the image. This is an easy technique to do, because although you may end up with a bit that isn’t stamped where the two layers meet, it can be covered up with cardstock.

I like how Amber added three die cut butterflies and three sequins to the card. Odd numbers of elements create interest on a project. They force your eyes to move around the grouping of elements, taking everything in. Here’s a closer look at the card.

This isn’t considered to be a Distinktive stamp set, however the circles definitely fall into that category. Remember that you need to use less ink on these to obtain the 3D look. Details are lost if there is too much ink.
