Yesterday it was snowmen, and today it’s snowflakes, accompanied by lots of sunshine and a wicked windchill today. I think that the resident golden retriever will be playing lots of ball in the backyard and house today instead of going out for a long walk. Since we now have snow on the ground, and a forecast that seems to be calling for flurries everyday over the next week, I am sharing a very pretty card for today’s Card Swap Thursday. Laurie Alexander, a demonstrator in Burlington, created this very pretty Christmas with Snowflake Sentiments card.
Laurie’s card features different metallic elements, which adds a great overall sheen to the card. Combining different colours of metals is very on trend, and something that I rarely do because I’m a silver/white gold kind of girl. Funny, because if you look at my engagement/wedding rings from 20 years ago, I have both white/yellow gold in them. I guess we were just ahead of the trend! Anyhoo…
I love how Laurie wrapped the swirls around the sentiment, giving them added lift off of the overall project. Cards with embossing or elements popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals always have a great feel to them. One of my stamping resolutions for 2018 is to use my embossing folders more, and in different ways. I sometimes forget about them!
