I have to start this post by stating that I’m not a quilter. When in grade school, I gave it a try and liked it, but ultimately I like paper more than I like fabric. However, I love the look of quilts. I have stitched a number of pieces that are either based on quilt blocks, or feature quilts in their designs.
When I saw the Quilted Christmas Suite in the Holiday Catalogue, I fell in love. I didn’t order it as part of my Demonstrator pre-order (one of those demonstrator perks we’ve talked about!), because I wasn’t sold on its long term versatility. After seeing some posted photos, I caved and bought it. I love it.
Today’s card is one of the first that I created using the suite, and it was CASE’d from a card originally posted by Brian King. It’s simple, yet visually effective. The little spool looks a miniature of the ones that I have my DMC cross stitch floss wrapped around, so I adore the cute spool on this card.
There are a number of patterns in the Quilted Christmas Designer Series Paper Pack that don’t scream Christmas. Nice, because of the versatility you get in a pack. The ‘quilt’ that is behind the spool is 1/4 of a sheet, so you could make 16 identical card layers from a pack of DSP.

Yesterday it was snowmen, and today it’s snowflakes, accompanied by lots of sunshine…
