The Bright Lights In the City

If you follow me on Instagram, you might remember seeing a photo last week of my really messy stamp table, and a bunch of cards that were stacked up.  I have been playing with (and really enjoying!) my In the City Host stamp set, and although there’s a bit of fussy cutting on this card, I really love the look of it.  It’s tough to see it in the photo, but I have added some shimmer, making it look like there are stars amongst the bright lights in the city.

*Before I forget*  Today is the last day to place an order and receive a $6 coupon for every $60 you spend (before tax/shipping) that can be redeemed in August!  Make sure that you get that done before 9pm, because you don’t want to lose the chance to save a bit on your August stamping – especially because there will be a new Christmas set available for purchase.

I read on another blog that this is a “stamper’s stamp set” because when you pull it out, it’s not a quick play.  While I can see that, I also think that part of the reason that it takes so long is that you are messing around with colours, trying to decide what you like.  Truthfully, this card was the last one that I made, because I used bits and pieces from other stamped images that didn’t make it onto the final project.  (That and I completely messed up one card front where everything was stamped beside each other, opting to cut them all apart and start again.)

The other thing that you really can’t see in the photo, is that instead of stamping the actual road using Whisper White craft ink, I used a Paper Piercing Tool to poke the holes that make up the road.  When the card is closed, you can see the white card stock on the inside of the card peeking through.  It’s pretty fun if I do say so myself…

One last thing, before I tell you what I used to create this fun card.  This stamp set is a Host set, so to purchase it you must either host a workshop with $200+ in sales, place a $200 order, or talk to me about other ways that we can make this happen.  E-mail or call and I’ll be more than happy to chat with you.
