Northern Lights Technique

*originally posted on 10/13/16*

Although we live in the Great White North, I have never seen the Northern Lights. I have been told that they are spectacular, but will have settle for pictures.  Luckily, some enterprising stampers came up with the Northern Lights stamping technique!  At this month’s class, my stampers sat down to create some gorgeous Northern Lights cards.

I have admired this technique from afar, but was too intimidated to try it.  Now, I think that I’m going to have to try it again, because these are SO much fun to create!  The colours that we used were:  Perfect Plum, Watermelon Wonder, Tangerine Tango, Tempting Turquoise, Wild Wasabi, Night of Navy, Basic Black and Basic Gray.
Stamping the line of trees from Lovely as a Tree provides the perfect focal point for the card, with the colours behind them.  You could easily leave the sentiment off of the front, adding it to the inside of the card, but I chose to add a small sentiment found in the Teeny Tiny Wishes set, punched using the Classic Label punch.
