I love the word ‘zest’. It’s one of those happy words that makes you sit up a bit straighter, and prepare for a bit of zing. When I first saw the Lemon Zest Bundle in the 2017-2018 Annual catalogue, I fell in love because the images and sentiments are perfect for SO many different cards. Today’s card has been CASE’d from one created by Brian King, but I was short on time, and it was perfect for last week’s classes.
The Lemon Builder punch makes it so easy to punch out the lemons and their leaves. All you need to do is ink and punch! Just be careful of where you stamp your leaves, so that you don’t waste *too* much paper along the way.
I love how Brian chose to use the leaves from the Sheltering Tree stamp set behind the lemons. It’s a fabulous stamp, used in a completely different way than we are used to. The ladies in the class were oooing and aaahing over that one.
The inside of the card has a couple of double-stamped lemon slices. The slices have been double-stamped on the larger Whisper White panel of the front of the card as well.
*Tip* When stamping the lemons, be sure to pick up ink from all over your ink pad, not just the centre. Otherwise you’ll notice that the ink in centre of the pad begins to fade, and your lemons won’t be as strong. If you don’t have re-inkers for your ink pads, this is the reason to have them on hand, because I do find that the foam pads need to be re-inked more often than the older linen pads.
