It’s amazing how fast time flies. Today’s my eldest son’s 18th birthday. I find it amazing that the years have passed in what feels like the blink of an eye. A milestone birthday requires a fantastic card, and earlier this week I turned to Epic Celebrations to help create one. My creativity still feels a bit stifled (although playing with Waterfront yesterday definitely helped), so I went to Pinterest to find something that I could easily CASE.
I found this card, originally created by Shannon Lane, and fell in love. Both of my teenaged boys love their headphones, so this was a natural stamp to pull from the case.
The background is the same as one Shannon’s original card, but I have switched up the sentiment to reflect the birthday, and its significance. The background was created by stamping the headphones randomnly on a piece of Whisper White cardstock, and then sponging Pool Party and Bermuda Bay ink overtop. You can control the amount of ink that you’re spreading on the cardstock, creating a background that will be different every time you stamp.
I love stamping the inside of cards as well. It’s not something that we used to do, but it really ties things together!
It’s entirely possible that this card will end up sitting on a dusty shelf (or lost somewhere in his room), but the newly minted adult will still like it, and hold onto it. If I’m lucky, it will end up on one of his shelves of oddities.
Epic Celebrations is a Sale-a-Bration set, one that can be earned with a $60 purchase (+tax/shipping). You cannot outright buy this stamp set – only earn it. See all of the FREE Sale-a-Bration items, including Epic Celebrations, here. Add the Host Code to your online order, and if it’s over $50 (+tax/ship), I’ll send you FREE Project Helper Guides at the end of the month. That’s pretty easy to do when you’re looking to cash in on Sale-a-Bration and earn some freebies.
I’ll be back again tomorrow – for now, I must bake a cake! Happy stamping!
