Welcome back! Today’s Card Swap Thursday card features the pretty and delicate Touches of Texture stamp set. As have mentioned before, I have a bunch of different cards that I have received in Demonstrator swaps, and am slowly posting them online to give you some different takes on some of our favourite stamp sets. I would love to be able to tell you who created this one, but I don’t seem to have a name attached to it (most of them have sticky notes inside so that we can give credit to their creators). So, my apologies if this is your card! Drop me a quick note and I can update the post to include this important info, and we can all celebrate with Touches of Texture.
On to the card! It’s has a wonderfully summer colour combo, which is really appreciated this summer. I cannot believe how different this year is from last. We have had so much rain, and everything is growing out of control. Not that I’m complaining considering how bad last year’s drought was.
It’s tough to see unless you pick up the actual card and hold it in the light, but there is Wink of Stella on the wings of the dragonfly, giving it a nice bit of shimmer. The flowers, bee and dragonfly were all embossed using black embossing powder, making it really easy to colour in the images.
One thing that I love about this card is that the original stamper added a lovely Happy Birthday sentiment on the inside of the card.
As this card was created in January, the Enamel stars on the front are no longer available as the 2016-2018 In Colour Enamel Shapes have been replace with In Colour Glitter Acrylic Shapes! I don’t have any samples to show you these in action, but stay tuned because I’ll add them to a project in the near future.
