Balloon Celebration mixed with Brusho

Have you ever picked something up and had difficulty putting it back down?  That’s Brusho for you.  The box landed on my doorstep in early January, but I was hesitant to open it right away.  The stories of Brusho going everywhere when opened scared me, and I had heard it was messy.  When I finally cracked mine open last week I fell in love.  Instantly.  I’m going to demonstrate the technique used on this card tomorrow on Facebook Live.  It’s ridiculously easy, not at all messy, and you’ll get a different look every time.  Today I’m featuring Balloon Celebration mixed with Brusho, resulting in a fun and bright birthday card.

Wendy's Little Inklings: Balloon Celebration mixed with Brusho

Brusho was used to create the background on this card.  I simply sprinkled the dry powder onto a piece of Watercolour paper, and spritzed with water.  Instead of waiting for the colours to meld, I dried it right away with my heat tool.  I love that you can see the different pigment colours pop out of the card.  Brusho is pigment powder, but each canister holds different colours mixed together in dry form.  If you shake some onto a palette and mix with water, you end up with a solid colour.  You only see the individual colours when they first hit the palette.

Wendy's Little Inklings: Balloon Bouquet mixed with Brusho

Balloon Celebration hasn’t seen any action in awhile, and background sets the balloons off perfectly.  Each were stamped with the balloon highlight stamp that is included in the set, and then punched with the Balloon Bouquet punch.  So easy!  Only the centre balloon was popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals, as well as the sentiment.

*Tuesday Tip* The balloon strings weren’t quite long enough to reach the bottom of the card from the balloons themselves.  Because this is a photopolymer stamp set, you can easily match up the strings to make them longer.
